Sewing Room Inspiration

I just ran across a very cool gallery of photos that people have sent in to the sewing.org website. There are some great looking sewing rooms, and some sort of funny ones. I was laughing at what an extension of a stitcher's personality their sewing room must be... some are complete chaos and carved out of the corner of another room of their home, and some are fully dedicated spaces that are organized to the hilt. There are some great organizational ideas among these photos. I just love to see other people with fabric stashes crazier than mine! Check it out. http://www.sewing.org/ then click on My sewing room.

Making an Amy Butler Skirt

One of my students is making an Amy Butler "Barcelona" skirt and it is going very nicely, the pattern is very easy to decipher and smartly laid out. I would say that based on the prewashing of the fabric, I would buy a more generous portion of fabric than suggested on the instructions if I made this skirt again. Once the fabric was pre-washed it was pretty close in the cutting.
It looks very easy, and I'll keep you posted on the progress.
Thanks Dawn.

I am working on my schedule for the Summer, and have planned to teach Garment Copying at Nancy's Notions, and both Couture Finishes and Alterations at Walcott. I will be posting the dates as they become public, let me know if you have any class ideas for the fall.
Have a great weekend!
